My First Scarf

I learned how to knit in the fall of 2002, thanks to my friends Jen (below left, with me), who taught me how to knit, and Katie (right), who taught me how to purl.

My first project was (surprise!) a scarf, which the loyal and tolerant Oscar models here:

Yarn: Hand-Dyed Mohair, purchased at A Good Yarn in Fell's Point, and a purple wool blend, knit together.

I cast on around 55 stitches and worked all rows as k2 tog, yo to the end. I don't know what the gauge was. I added some tassles to the end. Voila!
